Traveller's information desk: The information desk is located on the ground floor of International Arrivals and is open 24 hours.

Getting money: ANZ has three foreign exchange outlets and also offers regular branch banking. Travelex Worldwide Money has three currency exchange outlets, two in T2 and one in T3.

ATMs are also available and are located next to the check-in counters and boarding gates. The ATMs accept most Australian and international cards.

Eating and drinking: From a glass of bubbly to a sandwich you'll find plenty of food and drink options at the airport. Choose from restaurants, bars, fast food outlets, coffee shops and juice bars throughout the terminals.

Shopping: There are over 50 specialty stores at Melbourne Airport including fashion, souvenirs and books. International travellers can take advantage of a wide range of duty (tax) free shopping. T2 (international) before customs trading hours are 5.30am–11.30pm, after customs trading hours are 5.30–12.30am and T3 (domestic) trading hours are 5.30am–9pm.

Airport hotels: There are three hotels within five minutes walk of the airport terminals. Choose from the luxurious PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, the stylish and comfortable Holiday Inn and the budget Motel Formule 1.

Checking in

International: The check in time for International departures is approximately 2.5 hours before the flight's scheduled departure.

Domestic: The check in time for domestic departures is 1 hour before the flight's scheduled departure. For more information please see your airline.

Getting around

Melbourne Airport is approximately 20 kilometres or 25 minutes northwest of the city and can be easily accessed by car, taxi or bus.

Hiring a car: There are a number of car rental companies operating at the Airport on the ground-floor, immediately in front of the terminal. Bookings can be taken at the Airport.

Catching a taxi: Taxis are readily available outside the terminals. A trip to the city will cost around AUD$50.

Taking a bus: Skybus provides an economical and direct service to the city. Buses run 24 hours a day, seven days a week every 10–15 minutes throughout the day and every 30–60 minutes overnight. Tickets are available at the Airport or online.
