Winemaker and manager, Shadowfax, Werribee
Now an experienced winemaker, Matt started working in wineries at 17, attending Roseworthy Agricultural College in South Australia. In his winery travels, he spent time in the picturesque vineyards of Italy and Moldova, and worked at the Brokenwood Winery in the Hunter Valley and at Nautilus in New Zealand.
He has been at the Shadowfax Winery and Vineyard since its first vintage in 1999. Shadowfax produces 13,000 cases of wine each year, and grows Shiraz in five vineyards, each of which is bottled separately. Each wine is carefully crafted by the talented Harrop, and the five vineyards are maintained by a dedicated crew of workers under his direction.

Play beyond Melbourne
Victoria has wineries all over the place. It has more wineries that any other state in Australia – Mornington Peninsula alone has more than 50.
