Melbourne, capital of Victoria, is perhaps best known for its fine parks and gardens, gracious tree-lined streets, international restaurants, fashion, and its famous sporting events. The city hosts the Melbourne Cup horse race, Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Australia Open Tennis Grand Slam. Melbourne is also famous for its wonderful Sandbelt corridor – making golfing a must.

Below the southern outskirts of Melbourne is a rich vein of sandy loam subsoil, upon which are situated eight of the best golf courses in Australia, known throughout the world as the famous Melbourne Sandbelt. These clubs have played host to countless great championships including the Australian Open, Johnnie Walker Classic, Australian Masters, World Match Play Championship, Women’s Australian Open, and the Presidents Cup.

Accommodation: Two nights in Melbourne at either hotel of your choice (4 or 5 star) with full buffet breakfast daily.

Dinner on your first night will be at Attica, one of Melbourne's finest restaurants – recently ranked number 32 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards. Dinner includes a seven-course menu and return transfers. Beverages at own expense.

Day Two: Golf at Metropolitan Golf Club

Tucked away quietly in Melbourne’s southeast, just 25 minutes from the Central Business District, The Metropolitan Golf Club enjoys a reputation as one of the best-conditioned, most beautiful courses in the country. Pure couch grass fairways with large, fast bent-grass greens; hand mown to the edges of greenside bunkers, make for a multi-faceted, challenging course.

Throughout its rich history, Metropolitan has challenged the best players in the world. In total the Club has hosted seven Australian Opens, five Australian PGAs, ten other professional tournaments and in 2001 hosted the Australian Amateur Championship for the fifth time.

Visit galleries, specialty stores, and sample tasty delights everywhere from upscale eateries to a quick-bite lunch bars.

Day Three:  Golf at Royal Melbourne Golf Club

Royal Melbourne's two courses, the East Course and the West Course, are each ranked among the best in the world. Designed by Dr. Alister McKenzie, Royal Melbourne West is possibly the most famous of Australia's golf courses. However both the East and West tracks are renowned as some of the best golf layouts in the world (both are ranked in the US Golf Digest World Top 100). Royal Melbourne has hosted numerous national and international events, most famously the 1959 Canada Cup, the 1970 World Cup of Golf and the 2008, 2011 Presidents Cup. In 2019 the Presidents Cup will once again return to Royal Melbourne, providing international players with the challenging route of the Composite Course – a combination of the best holes (12 holes from West and six holes from East) from each routing.

Day Four: Mornington Peninsula, Golf at Moonah Links

Join your driver for private transfer to The National Golf Club.

Moonah Links Golf Club, a 36-hole course located at Rye on Victoria's spectacular Mornington Peninsula, is one of Australia's ultimate golfing experiences. A short drive from Melbourne, Moonah Links boasts two championship courses. The centrepiece of the Moonah Links Complex is The Old Course designed by Peter Thompson. A links-style stadium layout, The Old was purpose built among the sites' expansive dunes to regularly host the nation’s Open Championship. While the Legend’s Course designed by Ross Perrett is more playable, both are extremely enjoyable, memorable golfing experiences.

Following lunch at the Clubhouse, transfer to the coastal town of Sorrento and take the Searoad Ferries service to Queenscliff across Port Phillip Bay. Keep an eye out for dolphins and seals that often play in the wake of the ferry.

Transfer to your hotel at Thirteenth Beach, situated on the Thirteenth Beach Golf Course. This is a 36 hole course, home to the first ever joint men and women’s championship events, the Victorian Men and Women’s Open.

Day Five: Bellarine Peninsula, Thirteenth Beach Golf Club

Following breakfast in the Clubhouse, tee off on the Beach Course designed by Graham Marsh.

Thirteenth Beach is a 36-hole development stretching for two miles along Barwon Heads’ famous surf beach. The most prominent course – The Beach Course – was designed by Tony Cashmore on a former asparagus farm. The Beach Course truly complements the raw glamour of the natural landscape and the severity of the coastal winds. With generous fairways, large sensible putting surfaces and rugged bunkering, the course loops away from the shore through low-lying farming pastures and rugged sandhills to provide golfers with a diverse range of challenges and scenery.

After completing your 18 holes, transfer to Jack Rabbit Winery for a late lunch. The winery is ideally located to take advantage of uninterrupted views of the Melbourne skyline. Following lunch transfer back to Melbourne.
