Lindenderry and Red Hill Spa
Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula is an hour's drive from Melbourne and where you'll find Lindenderry, a secluded European-style country estate that's a perfect base to explore the area. The renowned Japanese guesthouse Shizuka Ryokan features traditional accommodation, delicious food and luxurious spa treatments in Hepburn Springs, about 90 minutes from Melbourne. All six guestrooms have authentic details from the decorative alcoves and straw matting to the traditional low tables. Peppers Hepburn Springs Spa Retreat
Located in Hepburn Springs, the Peppers Mineral Springs Retreat first opened in the 1930s and has recently undergone a restoration, making it one of the most beautiful boutique hotels around. You can relax in the library or the lounge area, and the Conservatory Cafe offers a buffet breakfast and a casual lunch. However, the culinary pièce de résistance is the new Argus Dining Room, or you can have High Tea served under the arches. The multi-award winning mineral spa is located behind the retreat and offers eleven treatment rooms along with a relaxation lounge and organic teas. In amongst the cool fern gully and surrounded by waterfall fed streams, the Salus Spa at Lake House in Daylesford is an oasis of tranquillity. As well as private bathhouses, there are ten indoor treatment rooms and airy relaxation areas decorated with accents of blond wood and splashes of Tiffany blue in the furnishings.
The Daylesford Day Spa has six beautiful treatment rooms that are the perfect environment for rejuvenation and wellness, and there are open fires in each of the double rooms. The spa has also created its own range of all-natural, Australian-made products and there's a beauty salon on site, which makes it popular for bridal groups.
The historic Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa draws mineral waters directly from the area's springs and has been welcoming visitors since 1895. Renovated in 2008, the Bathhouse offers traditional communal bathing in warmed mineral water pools, with a range of hydrotherapies available in the Sanctuary, including spa and relaxation pools, an aroma steam room, spa couches and a salt therapy pool. There's also a magnificent day spa where you can book facials, body scrubs and massages.
