Episode 33: Great Ocean Road
Today on Postcards the team head to one of Victoria's favourite travel destinations: the Great Ocean Road. Starting the journey near Apollo Bay, Lauren Phillips enjoys an incredible platypus encounter, Glen Moriarty takes a bird's eye look at the Otway Fly, Shane Crawford goes eco-friendly at one of Australia's best Eco lodges, and Giaan starts on the Great Ocean Walk, then checks in to accommodation with a view.
Marengo Bay, Point of View and La Bimba
If you're travelling the Great Ocean Road, make sure you bring comfortable shoes. You won't want to miss the spectacular views from the 104 kilometre Great Ocean walk, a truly spectacular journey on Victoria's stunning west coast. For the ultimate accommodation, book a stay at Point of View, a collection of five villas perched on the hillside overlooking Apollo Bay. Each couples-only villa has stunning views of the ocean from almost every window.
There are also plenty of great places to eat in the region. Lively La Bimba has an Iberian style dining room with art covered walls, and the views are great too.

Rotton Point House and Otway Fly Treetop Adventures
At Johanna Beach on the Great Ocean Road, you'll find luxurious Rotton Point House. The house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, floor to ceiling glass windows, polished concrete floors and designer furniture. You can arrange for a chef to cook up a treat with fine local produce, or to really unwind, let the in-house remedial massage therapist work a little magic on you.
Not all the beauty along Great Ocean Road comes with ocean views. Detour inland to a whole new world. Otway Fly's Treetop Adventures is a must do if you're seeking serious fun. Spend a couple of hours or a whole day. The Otway Fly Zip Line Tour is a series of cable spans linked by cloud stations attached to trees high above the forest floor. It's by far the most exiting and educational way to see and learn about this magnificent area.
