Episode 06: Wineries

There is something special about spending a sunny autumn afternoon among the spectacular colours of the vines, so the Postcards team explore some of Victoria's wineries. Share the delights of All Saints and St Leonards in Rutherglen, Port Phillip Estate in Red Hill, and Jack Rabbit and Leura Park Estate on the Bellarine Peninsula.

Jack Rabbit and Leura Park
Rustic and chic, Leura Park Estate is in the Geelong and Bellarine region and a great place to enjoy a glass of their sparkling pinot chardonnay. You can also have a meal at the cellar door with fuss-free favourites like a produce platter, pizza or a steak sandwich.

The next coastal winery Jack Rabbit with its superior cool climate wines, which have visitors hanging around the cellar door. And don't miss the high white ceiling, magnificent views and delicious food of Jack Rabbit's restaurant.

You can try their wines and beer at the cellar door, and next door there's a DIY deli, which allows you to pick from a selection of fresh, locally grown and homemade produce that they plate up and serve to you. All Saints and St Leonards
Wine-making Rutherglen is about a three and a half hour drive from Melbourne. At St Leonards, try their secretly blended Lumiere and their beautiful cabernet franc, grab a bite at the cafe and sit on the lawn overlooking the river.  The All Saints winery was established in 1864, and this beautiful property is a fantastic blend of new and old with heritage-listed buildings and equipment that's over 100 years old. You can taste at their cellar door or treat yourself to something special with a private tasting in the family cellar.

There's a choice of six luxurious suites with designer features, which are all near an intimate museum wine library, the barrel room and state of the art winemaking facilities. Upstairs is the cellar door with an expansive outdoor deck and the restaurant was awarded a chef's hat in the recent Age Good Food Guide.
