Episode 16: Cooking schools
This week on Postcards the team check out a variety of cooking schools in and around Melbourne. Glen visits the Docklands precinct where he jumps aboard a Chinese junk boat and takes a 'Good Morning Vietnam!' cooking class, and stops by Mill & Bakery on Central Pier for some tips on baking bread and desserts. Brodie travels to George's Boutique B&B and Culinary Retreat in Arthurs Seat where she whips up a delicate crème brulee in her classic french cooking class and Shane heats things up at Gewurzhaus Spice Kitchen in Hawksburn Village. Finally, Bec ventures to Hart's Farm on the Mornington Peninsula where she makes a piping hot pizza with olives straight from the olive grove, before retreating to the daybed in the onsite B&B to enjoy the views of the vineyard.
Junk Food Cooking School and Mill & Bakery
Junk Food Cooking School is located on an old Chinese junk boat in Docklands and has become one of Melbourne's most popular cooking schools. The school runs a variety of different cooking classes, each focusing on a different cuisine. In addition to the cooking classes, Junk Food Cooking School also offers cruises that are fully catered for.
Also in Docklands, Mill & Bakery is one of the newest foodie hotspots Melbourne has to offer. With its very own custom designed mill, there's nothing that the team at Mill & Bakery can't do. The menu offers a fantastic selection of brunch items including patisseries, chocolate croissants, bombollini, fresh artisan bread and an assortment of non-dairy options. They also offer a range of classes for people of all ages, where you can learn how to temper chocolate and bake your own bread!

In the Hawksburn Village store there's also a Spice Kitchen cooking school. You'll find it on Tucks Road in Shoreham, about an hour's drive from Melbourne. The olives grown on the property are used to make all manner of Mediterranean delights, including scrumptious olive pizzas. The cooking school kitchen hosts scheduled classes and privately booked group lessons. In terms of accommodation, there is a one room B&B that is divided into three zones, for living, sleeping and bathing.
