Bacchus Marsh

Grab an apple and chomp your way around Bacchus March's pick-your-own orchards, historic attractions, and natural wonders.

Arrive in Bacchus Marsh along The Avenue of Honour's 3.5-kilometre 'elm-tree umbrella' and savour the splendour of the majestic garden and one of the worlds great 'Living Memorials'.

Freshest fruit and seasonal produce
Admire the changing seasonal palette of The Avenue. Snap up summertime strawberries, autumnal pumpkins and other seasonal produce grown in nearby orchards, market gardens, market stalls, and roadside vendors.

Get into the fields yourself and experience the joys of "picking your own" strawberries, stone fruits, and berries. Celebrate the start of the November picking season at the Strawberries and Cherries Festival, move onto apples and pears and mark the season's impending closure with the March Harvest Festival.

Marvel at the gorges, glacial valleys, and state parks surrounding Bacchus Marsh. Lerderderg Gorge, Werribee Gorge, Long Forest Nature Reserve, and the tall timbers of the Wombat State Forest are all in easy reach. Venture further afield to be overwhelmed by wildflowers in the Brisbane Ranges.

Explore the scenic surrounds via self-guided cycling and walking trails such as the Avenue of Honour River Circuit, and the fragrant Werribee River Peppertree Walk.
