In these red volcanic soils their family grow a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts, free range chickens and graze Dorpa sheep and Black Angus cattle. Captains Creek pride themselves on sourcing the finest ingredients from other local producers in this rich food growing region. Grab a table on the veranda overlooking the vines during our warmer months or beside the roaring open fire in winter. Try their popular Tasting Plate to begin, laden with a selection of local delicacies of Istra prosciutto, salami and hot chorizo, Captains Creek olives, marinated vegetables and house made dips served with Stella's sourdough bread.For main perhaps the Antipasto Tart with a roast tomato and basil pesto and Tuki smoked trout salsa or the slow braised Captains Creek Black Angus pot pie with dutch cream potato.
