The Wooden Boat Festival of Geelong is a celebration of the beauty, history and craftsmanship of wooden boats of all kinds. The event is held biennially in even years over the March Labour Day Long weekend. As well as the on-water component of wooden vessels racing on Corio Bay, the Wooden Boat Festival of Geelong provides a range of activity and entertainment for families on the waterfront. The festival is community focused and includes activities such as face painting, rock n roll nights, treasure hunts, buskers, art exhibitions and competitions, boat building competitions and plenty of food and music. In 2018 there will be five Tall Ships visiting Corio Bay for the Wooden Boat Festival of Geelong, and everyone can be a part of it. Visitors can experience life on a tall ship with day trips, overnight voyages, and even an ocean voyage to or from Sydney.
