Mount Hotham to Dinner Plain
Mount Hotham
This multipurpose trail is used by cross country skiers in the winter and mountain bikers in summertime. Ride through sheltering snow gums and open plains on an undulating trail with some steeper sections. The trail is never far from the Great Alpine Road and there are plenty of picnic areas and rest stops along the way.

Grade: Level 2 – Suitable for most ages and fitness levels, some riding experience recommended

Note: This trail can be done in either direction. It is best travelled from early November until late March, as the area is usually snow covered during winter and early spring. Weather conditions can change rapidly at any time of the year though, so please check the weather forecast before you go. Be prepared with the appropriate clothing, food, water and safety equipment.
Getting there: Travel via Monash Freeway (M1) and Princes Highway (A1) to Bairnsdale. Take the Great Alpine Road (B500) turn off and follow the signs to Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham approximately 46km north-east of Melbourne.
