Combienbar East Errinundra Drive

Grade: Medium. Four-wheel drive only.

Distance: 111 kilometres

Duration: Full day or overnight

Tackle some challenging four-wheel drive tracks to take the picturesque route to eastern Errinundra.

Survey the entire Combienbar Valley from the Three Sisters, an outcrop of Upper Devonian Cann River sedimentary beds of conglomerates and sandstone.

Experienced drivers will enjoy the Tennyson Track – the first part of which leads to the Tennyson Campsite on the Tennyson Creek, an area of known powerful owl habitat and pristine streamside forest.

Further on you'll reach Errinundra National Park and the Errinundra Saddle picnic area, the starting point for an easy one-kilometre rainforest walk. From the Mt Morris picnic area you can take the one-hour return walk to the granite outcrop, which extends into the rainclouds causing much of the rain that falls in the catchment areas.

Warnings: Log truck traffic. Seasonal road closures. Tennyson Track is steep, rocky and slippery requiring low range 4WD with high ground clearance - a very difficult route to be undertaken by drivers with extensive 4WD experience.
