Driven Dressage is a truly unique discipline in this equestrian sport. The object of the driven dressage test is to judge the freedom, regularity of pace, harmony, impulsion, suppleness, lightness, ease of movement and correct bending of horses and ponies on the move, whilst pulling a jinker/carriage/buggy. The horse(s) are required to conduct set movements using prescribed paces and competitors are judged on their style, accuracy and general control of their horse(s).Each competitor must qualify for the event and are asked to complete two tests in two different arenas, under the scrutiny of six nationally accredited judges (three for each arena). Competitors will also drive a ‘Cones Course’ of 20 measured obstacles, testing speed and accuracy.
