The Court Sessions in Dunolly

03 5434 6100

21 May 2017

Head to the superb tiny town of Dunolly, 50 minutes down the road from Bendigo, on Sunday May 21, for an afternoon with writers as part of the Victoria Law Foundation’s Law Week program.

A gold rush town with a rich history, Dunolly has two beautiful restored court houses, one which now operates as the Town Hall and the other which houses a collection of memorabilia.

The afternoon starts with a free optional tour of the Old Court House, with your guide, Marion da Costa, at 1pm.

Then at 2pm in the Town Hall, meet Terry Smyth, author of the compelling biography of Denny Day, who brought the Myall Creek massacre to trial, and Sulari Gentill, whose brilliant Rowland Sinclair historical crime novels are hugely popular.

Enjoy a country afternoon tea, before settling in for a final chat with the writers, about legal history and the ethics of writing crime.

This is a perfect setting for a convivial autumn literary event, so the organisers look forward to gathering once more in Dunolly, for this Bendigo Writers Festival Bookmark event.
