Vic Fish Kids 2017 Program - Lake Victoria, Maryborough

03 8392 6876

29 Oct 2017

Victorian Fisheries Authority is hosting six free events in 2017 to get more children fishing, more often. They are fun and free, and everything is provided so youngsters can cast a line and try fishing in a safe and supportive environment.

It is all part of the State Government's Target One Million plan to grow participation and get one million anglers by 2020.

Learn to cast, how to tie knots and what to do with a fish when you catch one. Get the opportunity to release fish into the waters too.

Free fishing tuition will be provided by volunteers from angling clubs and Fishcare.

Clinics will commence at 10:00am and midday, and there will be lots to do for the whole family, including a free photo booth to immortalize that fish of a lifetime.

Parental supervision is essential and participants should bring sturdy footwear, clothing to suit the weather, a hat and sunscreen, and a sense of fun and adventure because they are going to be wonderful days.

Come along and join Vic Fish Kids Ambassador Rex Hunt, who will attend each event and inspire young and old with expert tips and entertaining tales.
