It is truly a delight to enter the doors of this beautiful gallery. One enters a mysterious other place where the dreamings of this artist become alive on canvas, and rich canvasses depict the humour and pathos of human life.

Brian Nunan's paintings are romantic, tragic, real, raw - expressing mixed subjects from his dreaming, Greek Mythology, people and life of the outback - a story teller speaking with his brush.

Brian travels most years gathering material - small oil paintings and a large folio of pen and charcoal sketches and drawings for large paintings which are completed in his studio.

Nunan Gallery is living in the former Merrifield House, which in 1907 became St Gabriels school until 1997 when Brian found his 'mans shed', an incredible creative and spiritual space.

For a peaceful yet thought provoking experience, a visit to this gallery is a must. Situated behind the gallery is Rembrandts Retreat, a self contained cottage for artists and art lovers.

Visit the website, better still visit the gallery in Castlemaine, Central Goldfields.
