Hamilton Reconciliation Week

0407 352 402

27 May - 3 Jun 2018

Join in the celebrations by attending one or all of the Reconciliation Week events: Dreamtime at Melville Oval (Hamilton Kangaroos Football and Netball games).

Cheer on your players wearing jumpers and dresses designed by local Indigenous artists; Meet in Brown Street for a Welcome to Country and flag raising ceremony, then continue to the Hamilton Botanic Gardens for a smoking ceremony and cultural talk.

Listen to stories regarding the Indigenous plantation along the Grangeburn and other local significant work the Budj Bim Rangers are involved with. Enjoy local Indigenous art and story display and the many creative ideas lining Gray Street.

Reconciliation is about unity and respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and non-Indigenous Australians. It is about respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and valuing justice and equity for all Australians.
