Mountain biking
Ditch the skinny tyres and lycra and get off road in the majestic scenery surrounding the Great Ocean Road and its hinterland.
Off-road cyclists are spoilt for choice in the Great Ocean Road, with purpose-built mountain bike tracks and undulating terrain criss-crossing the region.
Purpose-built mountain bike trails
Check out the Forrest Trails, over 40-kilometres of mountain bike tracks created through bush terrain in the Great Otway National Park. Pass through tall eucalypt forests and dense fern gullies for a snapshot of the stunning Otway Ranges.
Discover a new feature every time you visit You Yangs Regional Park and its purpose-built XC and downhill trails, split into two main areas. The Western Plantation includes a 30 kilometre single-track loop with obstacles including log rides and boardwalks. The Stockyards has 13 downhill rides and XC trails totalling 35 kilometres.
Perfect your jumps at the Anglesea Bike Park Mountain Cross Track, Victoria's first professionally designed loop and jumps track. For a more relaxed cycling adventure, try the Old Beechy Rail Trail or the Bellarine Rail Trail.
Other off-road opportunities
The diverse terrain in the region means there are also plenty of other places to get off-road. Try the Ted Wilson Trail, which follows the Geelong Ring Road from Corio to Herne Hill, the Tom McKean Trail along the disused railway line between Fyansford and North Geelong, or the Waurn Ponds Creek Trail.
Delve into the scenic bushy surrounds of Anglesea on one of many mountain bike trails, including the Beach View and Kangaroos Trail, the Best of Anglesea Ride, Wildflower and Wattle Ride, and Anglesea Heath Mountain Bike Adventure
