7 Peaks Alpine Ascent Challenge

Terms & conditions

1. This promotion is open to anyone with the exception of employees of the participating agencies.

2. The promotion is valid from 28 October 2011 until 31 March 2012. All entries must be received at the following address before 5pm on 13 April 2012: 7 PEAKS Alpine Ascent Challenge, Level 1, 19–23 Camp St, Beechworth 3747.

3. MAJOR PRIZE DRAW: Participants must complete at least four of the seven resort climbs by bicycle and submit a 7 Peaks boarding pass with the specific validation for each climb to be eligible to win the major prize. Participants will be awarded with one entry for each additional peak completed. Maximum of four entries per person. Entrants must return their boarding pass with at least four resort validations and complete their personal details. Incomplete entries will be ineligible. Participants will also go into the draw for the peak prizes, for each peak they complete and validate with the relevant resort stamp.

4. PEAK PRIZE DRAWS: Participants will go into the draw for each peak they complete and validate with the relevant resort stamp. Participants will also go into the major prize draw if they complete four of the seven resort climbs outlined. Entrants must return their boarding pass and complete personal details. Incomplete entries will be ineligible.

5. Participating Resorts include: Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort, Mount Buffalo National Park (represented by Parks Victoria), Mt Buller Alpine Resort, Dinner Plain Alpine Village, Falls Creek Alpine Resort, Hotham Alpine Resort and Lake Mountain Alpine Resort.

6. The winning entries of all prizes will be drawn from a barrel on 16 April 2012 at 10am in the offices of North East Victoria Tourism Board, Level 1, 19 - 23 Camp St, Beechworth 3747. All winners will be notified by phone and confirmed in writing. The results of the competition will be posted on the website www.7peaks.com.au and printed in the Herald Sun on 23 April 2012. If for any reason another draw is required, it will be held on 30 April 2012 at the same time and place mentioned above. Results of a second draw will be printed in the Herald Sun on 7 May 2012.

7. MAJOR PRIZE: The major prize is up to the value of $18,000 and includes: 2 x return economy airfares from winners closest capital city to Paris, and 2 x places on Tour One of Phil Anderson’s Cycling Tours of the 2012 Tour de France (28 June - 4 July 2012). Tour includes accommodation, breakfast, most dinners, transport to and between stages, guide services and mechanical assistance. The winner will be responsible for any transfers, additional transport, medical expenses, spending money, insurance or expenses incurred that are not included specifically in the tour. Tour itineraries will be confirmed in November 2011 when the Tour de France route is announced. As this is an event based prize, the winner must take the prize at the nominated time. 8. PEAK PRIZES: Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort: Two nights for two people in Altitude Apartment. Includes a $50 voucher to Village Central Restaurant and a 1 hour spa and 1/2 hour sauna pass. Excludes public holidays and long weekends. Valid: Nov 2012 - May 2013. Up to the value of $460. Mount Buffalo National Park (represented by Parks Victoria): Five night camping pass at Lake Catani in the Mount Buffalo National Park. Bookings are essential for peak periods. Valid: Nov 2012 - April 2013. Up to the value of $120. Mt Buller Alpine Resort: Two nights accommodation for two people (double or twin share) at the Mt Buller Chalet. Includes a meal for two to the value of $200 at the Black Cockatoo Restaurant. Not available during ticketed resort-wide events. Valid: Nov 2012 - May 2013. Up to the value of $600. Dinner Plain Alpine Village: Two nights accommodation for two (double or twin share) in a luxury self contained apartment in Dinner Plain. Includes a local bottle of wine on arrival. Subject to availability. Valid: Nov 2012 - June 2013. Up to the value of $400. Falls Creek Alpine Resort: Two nights accommodation at Quay West Falls Creek (for two people). Includes breakfast daily. Valid: Nov 2012 - May 2013. Up to the value of $720. Subject to availability and excludes major resort events - Check with accommodation when booking. Hotham Alpine Resort: Two nights accommodation in a Zirky’s Lodge Room, including breakfast daily. Plus entry for two to the 2013 Cool Summer Festival and a $200 gift voucher from Columbia. Valid: CSF event weekend (February 2013). Up to the value of $580. Lake Mountain Alpine Resort: One night accommodation for two at the 5 star Delderfield Luxury Bed and Breakfast in Marysville. Includes gourmet cooked breakfast and a $50 voucher to spend at Heights Bar and Bistro. Valid: Nov 2012 - May 2013. Up to the value of $390.

9. Total promotion prize value including major prize and peak prizes: up to the value of $21,270.

10. Use of Information: Participant information will be shared by the participating agencies and may be used to deliver promotional material and information specific to the resorts. Participant information will not be distributed to agencies not involved in this promotion.

11. This promotion is a joint initiative of: Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort Management Board, Parks Victoria, Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Alpine Resort Management Board, Dinner Plain Management Committee, Falls Creek Alpine Resort Management Board, Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board, Mount Hotham Skiing Company and Lake Mountain Alpine Resort Management Board and North East Victoria Tourism Board Inc. It is managed by North East Victoria Tourism Board Inc.

12. All participants acknowledge that cycling involves risks and hazards and agree to hold harmless and indemnify all partners identified in section 11 of the terms and conditions against any and all losses they may suffer as a result of attempting or participating in any part of this promotion.

13. All prizes are non transferable and not redeemable for cash.
