Mountain biking

Make your way across the High Country on mountain bike and conquer the Dirty Dozen collection of the best mountain bike trails in Mount Buller, Falls Creek, Beechworth, Bright and Mount Beauty.

Do the Dirty Dozen
Bring your wheels and explore new tracks and improvements to existing Dirty Dozen trails. Head to Mount Buller to try out the new Copperhead Trail, a 2012 addition and a heady mix of beginner downhill and cross country riding. You won't find many other places in the world with such stunning scenery to ride through, from the challenging alpine trails to the rivers and creeks of the valleys.

Race down, get a lift up
For an adrenalin-pumping adventure on a full-suspension mountain bike, follow the tracks around the Horse Hill Chairlift on Mount Buller, from easy terrain to the 'Abominable Downhill' track that crosses Chalet Creek. There's even a chairlift to take you back up to the top (not in winter).

Grab the chairlift for easy access to the tracks at Falls Creek and Mount Hotham, during peak holiday times in summer and over Easter. Alternatively, go further afield to Mount Beauty and the Bogong High Plains.

For detailed information on tracks, pick up a map from a local visitor information centre or get in touch with one of the mountain bike tour operators.
