The 2017 Bald Archy Prize exhibition is controversial, critical and above all very, very, comical. The annual exhibition has been described as the irreverent alternative to the Archibald Prize and Australia's most audacious comic art prize. Now in its 24th year, the exhibition will be on display to the public in the Swanpool and District Memorial Hall, 2386 Midland Highway, from 26th August until 10th September. Open every day 10:00am to 4:00pm admission being Adults $5.00, Concession $4.00 and Students $2.00. The dining room will be open daily, with morning and afternoon teas from $6.00 and delicious lunches for either $12.00 or $17.00. To add to the graphic arts experience, two other exhibitions will be held in Swanpool on the same dates and times as the Bald Archy Exhibition. The Benalla Camera Club will be holding an exhibition of their member’s photography in the Swanpool Bowls Club pavilion and the Broken River Painters, and invited artists, will be holding an exhibition of their works in the pavilion at the Albert Heaney Reserve (football ground). Entry to both of these exhibitions is by gold coin donation.
