For centuries, one question has plagued the people of the Mediterranean; it is a question that, for generations, has pitted countryman against countryman and sparked spirited debate across dinner tables, over neighborhood fences and in sun-drenched piazzas. It is a question that has even followed the Italian community to Australia, just who makes the best salami?

Dal Zotto Wines and The Meat Room will host the ultimate contest of salami styles to decide once and for all - which region is worthy of the title Il Salame Perfetto (The Perfect Salami). Will it be the north or the south?

The long-raging salami debate will finally end with the inaugural Salami Smack Down at Dal Zotto Wines Trattoria on 7 October.

The day will start off with a free salami demonstration in the morning from 11:00am with James Mele of The Meatroom. Learn how to make the perfect salami from the man who has been to Italy to learn from the masters how to do this better than anyone.

All this plus charity auctions, live music, and plenty of delicious Italian food for all.
