Emily Rose Yoga is running a Yin Yang Seasonal Series: Spring workshop in Bright on Sunday 29 October. In Taoism each season relates to one of the elements and organs within the body. Spring relates to the organ Liver and the element Wood. Spring is the time for increasing Yang energy, shaking off the winter rest and channeling creativity. A variety of movement, breath and meditation practices will aim to assist this energetic shift into a period of 'spring cleaning', renewal and increased vitality. Yin yoga is a more passive, slower form of yoga where students are invited to take a particular shape, become still and then stay a while. The Yin sequence will aim to stimulate the Liver and Gall Bladder meridian channels encouraging the flow of healthy chi through the body and encouraging detoxification. Meditation practices will also be offered throughout the session around the theme of visioning and renewal. The Yang portion of the workshop will focus on twists, balances and inversion postures and pranayama (breath work) to support the elimination of toxins. All levels welcome and all props provided. Emily Rose Yoga 10 Class Pass holders may use two passes to attend this workshop.
