Quietly tucked in one of Beechworth leafy side streets, stands the imposing Billson’s Brewery. Founded in 1865 at the height go the Gold Rush era, this landmark red brick facade was the home of award-wining ales, porters and stouts well into the 1950’s. From the 1920’s, the brewery increased their small-batch production of soft-drink and traditional non-alcoholic cordials under the 'Murray Breweries' label. There are over ten unique flavours to choose from, including traditional Sarsaparilla and Portello.

The Beechworth site was originally chosen because of the pure alpine spring located on the property. This pristine water has been used from the start in the production of Billson’s beverages.

Visitors can book a Historical 'behind-the-scene' guided tour of the brewery and learn about Billson's rich past and access historical landmarks otherwise closed to public viewing. End the tour with a tasting of Billson's range of gourmet cordials. Tour cost: $10 per person including a complimentary 250ml bottle of cordial.

Billsons's Brewery is a bike friendly business and they offer a complimentary same-day valet service for their riding customers staying in Beechworth. They also have a repair tool-kit on hands in case of emergency.
