Take a slow ride on the Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail, sample the local organic delights along the Pedal to Produce Trail, or race, jump and slide on one of the many road and mountain bike courses across the region.

On the road
With three major climbs over 30 kilometres long Bright offers some of the best mountain climbs in the world. Start out with the 40-kilometre return route to Tawonga Gap Lookout, peddle the 60-kilometre return journey to the top of Mount Beauty, or hit the Great Alpine Road on the 110-kilometre loop taking in Kancoona Gap.

Mountain high
Local national parks and pine forests are filled to the brim with tracks and trails to get even the most committed downhiller's heart racing. Climb to the summit of Mount Porepunkah, try out Quinn's Gap loop, or take Bakers Gully road up to Huggins Lookout. Get track details and copies of Bright trail maps in town.

The good life
Cycle the Pedal to Produce trail and visit some of the finest wineries and breweries in and around Bright and Myrtleford. Work up a sweat in the morning and then lay out on the lawn with a glass of wine at Ringer Reef Winery. Cool off with a quiet beer at the Bright Brewery, stock up on berries, nuts and olive in Myrtleford, or enjoy alfresco dining at Boynton's Feathertop Winery.

Take a meandering journey through the beautiful Ovens River Valley on the Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail. The trail makes its way from Bright, through Gapsted Winery in Myrtleford and on to Wangaratta. With a gentle gradient and no traffic to contend with it's perfect for all ages and fitness levels.
