Officially the most epic mountain bike adventure in Australia, the Australian Alpine Epic Trail is the first trail in the southern hemisphere to be designated 'epic' by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA).
The trail is a long-distance, cross-country descending trail that starts in Mt Buller. It winds through some of the most spectacular terrain in the Australian Alps and takes in familiar favourites including Soul Revival, One Tree Hill, Gang Gangs, Picnic Trail, Cornhill Trail, Woolybutt and Stonefly (ascent).
The ride gets a little more wild as it continues through Mt Stirling to Telephone Box Junction, Razorback Trail, and deep into the forest before an endless descent down to Carter’s Road and along to leafy Mirimbah Park.
The trail is open from December to April and you can take advantage of the shuttle services, bike-friendly accommodation, bike hire, sales and service and more on Mt Buller.
