Join Buckle Up Bushrides on their Four Day Craig's Hut Howqua River Ride and experience the High Country region in a different light.

Meander through Mountain Ash, along the snow trails and over the top of Mt Stirling onto Clear Hills track before sitting back and enjoying the picturesque 360 degree mountain views from Craig's Hut as seen in the Man from Snowy River movies.

On the second day make your way through twisted snow gums to the beautiful Bindaree Falls continuing down to the head of the mighty Howqua River where they set up camp under the stars.

Day three involves many river crossings and sections of High Track with amazing views looking down onto the river, before reaching the seven mile flat for lunch. Ride down the river to the famous Sheepyard and Fry's Flat for the last night of camp on the banks of the Howqua River.

Finally leaving the Howqua Valley you will pass through Timbertop Saddle, along Three Chain track to the old stock routes and into the beautiful Delatite and Boorolite Valleys and homeward bound.

This ride offers so much from views across the Great Divide through to ever changing river crossings.

Buckle Up Bushrides offer High Country horseriding at its best. Discover the beauty and history of Victoria's High Country with an unforgettable horseback adventure with hosts Paul and Shelly.

Paul Skvor is the great, great grandson of William Mitchell Lovick who settled the district in 1871. His grandfather, Jack Lovick began horseback riding tours in the 1960′s and today, the tradition still lives on.

Paul's partner Shelly, has been bush riding since a child and first came to the area after doing a horse safari with Jack's son Charlie back in 2000. Paul and Shelly rode for Charlie Lovick for many years before being encouraged to branch out on their own. The Man from Snowy River movies was filmed throughout the area with Paul's family playing a big part in the making of these movies.

Operating out of the Boorolite Valley, Buckle Up Bushrides have tours catering to riders of all levels. From beginner through to experienced horsemen, their horses have wonderful temperaments and are hardy bush horses.
