Corryong Visitor Information Centre provides exceptional insights into the region so you can experience all that the Upper Murray and Australia's iconic Man from Snowy River legend has to offer.

The legend of Jack Riley, renowned as the authentic Man from Snowy River who inspired Banjo Paterson with his tales of chasing wild Brumbies in the mountains behind Corryong, is closely woven into Corryong's history. This is iconic Australia, this is the home of the legend and the spirit of Jack Riley lives on today in the Upper Murray. Come and be part of the legend.

The Upper Murray region is also home to some of Australia's most pristine natural environment located in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains and at the headwaters of the mighty Murray River.

It provides easy access to nearby Kosciuszko National Park and Victoria's Alpine National Park. Of significance is Burrowa-Pine Mountain National Park which is home to the largest monolith in the southern hemisphere.

With arguably one of the best climates in Victoria, the region has a pristine environment for visitors to explore and reconnect with nature. Fresh rivers and streams run crystal clear and the mountain air is invigorating.
