Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) is Melbourne's annual, 10-day celebration for everyone who reads. The Festival brings together writers from around the world to celebrate literature, explore ideas, and inspire readers through a vibrant program of storytelling, conversation and discussion, intellectual debate, educational programs, live performance, music and art events. The Festival includes events for people of all ages and more than a quarter of the program is free.
Do a modern version of "the block", a century-old form of cruising Melbourne's arcades that takes in cutting-edge artwork, fashion, music and design.
Keep your eyes peeled for Melbourne's striking modern and historic architecture, and see why the city has become a centre for contemporary design.
Take the City Circle tram or walk through city streets and laneways and along the Yarra River to see the city's street art and public artworks.
Perch in a Brunswick Street bar and celebrate the way that sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same in this bohemian enclave.
