April 12 marks the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin who, in 1961, was the first human launched into space. Since then we've gone further than even fearless pioneers such as Yuri could have dreamed.

The sky is no longer the limit for human space exploration as we journey beyond Earth and deeper into our solar system. There are now plans to set up a Deep Space Gateway on the Moon, colonise Mars, and develop commercial space travel.

At this special event you can hear the expert panellists discuss the recently announced Australian Space Agency and what role Australia can play in this accelerating industry, Immerse yourself in our 16m domed ceiling planetarium, experience what it’s like on board the International Space Station with Opaque Space’s VR game EarthLight, see the cosmos for yourself with outdoor stargazing through telescopes (weather permitting), be a star as you belt out some classic space-themed tunes in our special karaoke booth and enjoy DJs, drinks, and food under the stars.
