The festival is held at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre and showcases the very best of draft heavy horse breeds and demonstrates the versatility of these horses in an array of competitions over the two days. Breeds such as Clydesdale, Shire, Percherson, Gypsy Cob, Drum Horse, Friesian, Highland, Fjord and Haflinger in an array of events. such as heavy trade harness, working draft, long reining/obstacle course, ridden heavy horse/rider classes and heavy horse dressageAn extensive program provides opportunities of all age groups and skill levels to participate in a relaxed and cohesive environment. Full commentary, demonstrations, trade and market stalls are a major part of the festival enabling the free flow of information between participants and the general public. The Festival is much more than just a ‘horse show’ enabling the general public to be entertained and interact with show ring activities and educational displays in the trade village.
