American maestro Andrew Litton returns to the MSO after a long absence to conduct this adventurous program. Currently Music Director of Norway's Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Litton is Music Director-Designate of the New York City Ballet.

The program is dominated by two masterpieces: the Dvorak Cello Concerto, with German cellist Alban Gerhardt, and Prokofiev's monumental Symphony No 6. The concert begins with Rezncek's Overture to Donna Diana, the opera's most famous section.
