The Sailing World Cup – Melbourne 2016 is the final event to the 2016 Sailing World Cup Series that started in Melbourne in December 2015. This series is the pinnacle Olympic sailing series for professional sailors who will have recently competed in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and have a focus for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Now in its seventh year, the Sailing World Cup – Melbourne is well established as a world-class fixture in Victoria’s summer of sailing. Showcasing the best of the best, the Sailing World Cup – Melbourne is the premier annual event for Olympic class sailing in the Southern Hemisphere. Over the seven day event, Sailing World Cup - Melbourne on average attracts close to 10,000 people, whether it be to compete, support, spectate or engage in a number of on and offshore related activities.
