We're cooking up something pretty special: this April, the World's Best 50 Restaurants are coming to Melbourne.

Held exclusively in London and New York City to date, the prestigious awards bring together the best chefs, restaurateurs, sommeliers and food media from around the world to celebrate global gastronomy.

Perfectly timed to coincide with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, the World's 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony will take place at the historic Royal Exhibition Building, Wednesday 5 April, part of a weeklong program running 1-7 April.

Expect a schedule packed with events showcasing Australia's best food and wine, and special appearances from culinary royalty, including once-in-a-lifetime masterclasses with the world's best chefs. Foodies, clear your schedule.

The annual awards are voted for by 1000 industry professionals from around the globe. Be your own judge with a visit to Melbourne's own Attica, currently ranked 33rd on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, and to Brae, Birregurra, ranked 65th.
