Lûmé‘s multisensory tasting menu is a journey into the flavours, textures and ingredients not so frequently travelled. Lume focus on creating a holistic dining experience that is innovative, artful and perhaps a little eccentric.Opened in 2015 in a South Melbourne terrace house, formerly home to a burlesque club, Lûmé is the creation of Australian Chef Shaun Quade and Mr Harry. With a deep respect for the produce and people they work with, the Lûmé team share an unrelenting desire to experiment with taste, technique and perception. Artfully deceptive, Lûmé takes a thoughtful and considered approach to dining. They believe that a meal is not purely about taste - rather, it's an engagement of all of the senses. That's why their team is not limited to chefs and front-of-house professionals, but to musicians, actors, artists, psychologists, perfumers, scientists and any other element they can conjure that contributes to the multisensory journey.In 2016, Lûmé received two hats from The Age Good Food Guide and was awarded Best Australian Restaurant by European independent dining guide Gault and Millau.
