Starting in the now 'well-to-do' suburb of Clifton hill, hear some rather grim stories of crime and murder that occurred in this seemingly quiet, leafy neighbourhood. Take in prime real estate, learn how the varied beautiful houses were shaped by Melbourne's history of economic boom and bust.

The dates on the building all have a story. Keep an eye out for ghost signs. As you move through Edinburgh gardens learn about the history of Fitzroy football club, now disestablished. There is also evidence of what was once an inner circle railway line.

After a peaceful and beautiful walk through the gardens prepare yourself for Fitzroy's colourful (literally) streets. For all those street art loves get your cameras ready. This is a perfect opportunity to see the real street art of Melbourne.

A brief stop at Rose market and then move on through the narrow streets of what once was factories and warehouses, now turned high end apartments - yet there is still plenty of evidence of what once was through some great ghost signs.

Finish up at the grand Fitzroy town hall where you can enjoy a post- tour refreshing drink at a long standing, eclectic old-school pub.
