Restaurants
Thanks to Mildura chef Stefano de Pieri, and his Gondola on the Murray book and television series, many visitors have discovered the wide variety of fine food and wine in the Mildura region.
Down on the avenue
Langtree Avenue is the dining hub of Mildura and has earned the nickname 'Feastreet'. Head to Stefano's award-winning restaurant in the cellars of the Quality Hotel Mildura Grand and savour the best of seasonal local ingredients such as yabbies, Murray cod, house-made prosciutto and Murray River salt.
Along the Murray
Take a cruise on the gracious old paddle steamer, Rothbury, to Trentham Estate, a boutique winery on the banks of the Murray, or enjoy local delicacies and river views at Gol Gol Hotel. If you're around the port in Echuca, visit the renowned Oscar W's Wharfside restaurant overlooking the water, and for a 360-degree view of the river, have a meal on M.V. Mary Ann or paddle-steamer Emmylou.
Further afield
There are plenty of options further afield. Seek out The Green Zebra while in Albury Wodonga and in other towns along the Murray such as Swan Hill and Yarrawonga call in at one of the many cafes or country pubs for a good old-fashioned hot meal and a cool ale.
