Film: Fancy a swim?
Location: Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island
Address: Woolamai Beach Road, Cape Woolamai
Equally popular with surfers, mutton birds and ornithologists, Phillip Island's most southerly tip is home to broad sandy beaches, pink granite cliffs, and the island's largest shearwater rookery.
The stuff of legend, quality breaks like "Magic Lands" make Woolamai one of Victoria's most popular surf beaches and part of the island's National Surfing Reserve. There are loads of places on the island to hire gear and take lessons if you want to get on board.
Wondering where to wander? Cape Woolamai has three excellent walking tracks that make up the Cape Woolamai Circuit. Stagger up to sheer cliff tops for staggering island views. Wander and twitch, keeping an eye out for the burrows of the short-tailed shearwaters on their way to Alaska.
Or, just sit back on the golden sand and let other people get on with the coastal capers.
