Regional Long Lunch Gembrook - A Chef, a Train and a Lemon Tree

03 5968 1110

31 Mar 2017

An Argentinian feast alongside a heritage-listed railway.

Join Chef Mauro Callegari and the Puffing Billy at the historic Gembrook Station.

Located one hour from Melbourne, this quiet and picturesque part of Victoria hosts one of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival's long lunches. This amazing setting will see you surrounded by 200-year-old sky-high pines in the heritage listed station grounds dating circa 1900’s.

Meet at The Independent for a Melbourne Gin Cocktail and canapes in the sunny courtyard. Then, stroll three minutes to Gembrook Station grounds and take your seat at the grand table – with Puffing Billy steaming in to join the day. Local beverages will be matched to an Argentinian styled sharing menu featuring lemons grown in the orchards nearby.

Whilst the produce is to be locally sourced, the lively music and entertainment will carry a South American feel. Continue on into the afternoon – stay and enjoy a cheeky night cap (afternoon cap!) back at the restaurant's bar.
