Early winter is the peak time to pick and taste all types and colours of Tamarillo (also called tree tomatoes). This year, Rayners Orchard have a whopper crop of red, yellow and orange tamarillos, and would love to share these with as many people as possible.Running tasting tours over every day in June and into July, there will be lots of tamarillo tasting on offer all day. Did you know that a tamarillo can be both sweet and sour, tangy and tart? There will be samples on offer both during tours and in the Peach Cafe, as well as U Pick during tours for $10 per kilo. Not sure what you can make with tamarillos? Ask for a range of free recipes in Peach Cafe for some inspiration. Tamarillo offers only available till end of winter school holidays unless picked out earlier.Come visit Rayners Orchard this winter - plenty of fruit ready for tasting and picking. Enjoy the cosy log fire burning in the cafe to make sure you are warm as toast once you return from your tour.
