Open Garden at Woodcote, Kilsyth

0472 997 880

11 - 12 Nov 2017

An opportunity to visit and enjoy Woodcote, an interesting and enchanting private garden in Melbourne's outer east.

The property has been inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement, with references to Edna Walling. A broad selection of plants provide strong structure to showcase several 'rooms' or styles of garden in different areas of the property.

This includes a native garden - inspired by Victoria's High Country - a Japanese-inspired stroll garden, incorporating a dry pebble stream - Prairie perennials and grasses - and a billabong, featuring a copse of Nyssa sylvatica. An enormous elm is under planted with woodland plants that cope with dry shade. There is also a perennial border, rose garden, vegetable garden and fruit tree grove.

The seamless transition between these areas is paramount to the design and is a hallmark of the owners garden design. Refreshments and a plant stall will be available.
