The Waterwheel Visitor Information Centre in the township of Warburton provides tourist information, hosts an art gallery and an indoor forest at the Environment Discovery Centre. There is also a must see retail outlet called Handmade that showcases locally handmade goods from artists and craft-workers in the region. Open seven days, visitors can drop in and speak to a volunteer about where to stay and what to do in the Warburton Valley. There are plenty of brochures and maps for the region's stunning array of forests walks and attractions. Find out all you need to know to ride the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail or enjoy snow play on Mt Donna Buang during winter. The Waterwheel also stocks local wines for purchase and is the site of the community mosaic project, The Great Steps of Warburton. Set among stunning gardens on the main street, The Waterwheel is just a few steps from the pristine Yarra River. Warburton is where it all begins.
