Overview

Mount Baw Baw

Get set for exhilarating snow sports, family fun and mountain spa pampering at Mt Baw Baw this winter. Load up the car, rally the troops and make your way to Victoria's most accessible ski destination, just two and half hours from Melbourne.

Something for everyone

Learn to cut up the slopes on skis and snowboards at schools catering for both kids and adults alike. There's tobogganing for the little 'uns at the two dedicated toboggan parks, downhill runs for experienced skiers, and husky dog sled tours for cruising across the backcountry. Nature lovers who prefer a slower pace will enjoy a snowshoe tour of the mountain or a bit of quiet time at the luxurious Rock Pool Spa, set amongst giant granite boulders and twisted snow gums.

Snow glorious snow

With over 30 hectares of skiing terrain, there's plenty of space to explore and get up to all kinds of snowy adventures. Enjoy the friendly village atmosphere and make use of modern facilities that cater for both day-trippers and long-term visitors.

Choose from an array of accommodation options, from cosy cabins and budget dorms to modern apartments and luxury lodges, and find ski hire, food outlets, medical and information centres all within easy walking distance of the car parks.

Nightlife

When the sun goes down, it's time to hit the village and revel in the good life. Sample fresh local produce at The Village Restaurant and take in spectacular views across West Gippsland. The Alpine Bistro serves up killer pub grub and keeps the party going with weekend DJs and bands throughout the snow season. And for those who don't get enough action during the daylight hours, there's night skiing every Saturday night (weather permitting).

When the snow melts

In the summer months, get outdoors and soak up the spectacular alpine scenery of Baw Baw National Park. Unwind on a peaceful bushwalk through snow gum forests and discover local wildlife and vibrant wildflowers.

Up the ante by hitting one of the numerous mountain bike trails that criss-cross the mountain. Mt Baw Baw's labyrinth of mountain biking trails is also ideal for cross-country and downhill riding. Trails come complete with raised decking to ensure that weather conditions don't interfere with the ride.
