Explore all 37 kilometres of cross-country trails on skis and snow shoes, race downhill in a toboggan, or revel in an afternoon of snowball fights and snowman building. For the rev heads, there are even snow mobile rides on offer. With a wide range of cross country trails for all ages and skill levels on offers, there's plenty to keep the kids occupied and on the go.

Tips and tricks

Get some tips to help you on your way at the local Ski School. Public and private lessons are available as well as special deals for groups and families. However, demand is high, so be sure to book on arrival.

After the rush

Stop for lunch or finish an active day with a glass of local wine at the Lake Mountain Resort bar and bistro. Lake Mountain is a day resort so there is no accommodation on the mountain. Accommodation can be booked in and around the Marysville region. A variety of options are available, from luxurious B&Bs and camp grounds to motels, retreats and hotels. Why not make a weekend of it and visit it some of the surrounding towns and villages including Buxton-Narbethong, Taggerty and Alexandra-Eildon.

Getting here

  • Travel east from Melbourne along the Eastern Freeway. Drive along the Maroondah Highway to Healesville and continue on to Marysville. From Marysville, take Lake Mountain Road up to the resort.
