Getting here & getting around

Melbourne is the perfect place to kick-start your adventure down under. Well connected with air, bus, train and cruise-ship routes, Melbourne is the gateway for discovering the delights of Victoria and indeed the rest of Australia. Arrival by air is made easy with 26 international airlines flying into Melbourne Airport (including direct flights from London), as well as all the major domestic carriers.

The airport is located less than 14 miles from the city centre and visitors can get into town in just 20 minutes on the non-stop SkyBus. Alternatively, pick up a car and start your self-drive tour. Australia's left hand drive system makes it especially accessible for UK drivers. Victoria's compact size and diversity of landscapes means you can be admiring the scenery along the Great Ocean Road or sipping wine in the Yarra Valley within a couple of hours.
