| Busy Oven is a petite, handsome cafe that straddles Johnston and Nicholson Streets in Abbotsford. While it does a good lunch and offers catering for special events, this is a venue for breakfast lovers. On a clear day, if you're early enough, you'll see the sun slowly peep through the wide windows and half-closed front doors as you're eating a muffin still hot from the busy oven. Muesli with yoghurt, eggs on toast and all manner of smoothies, juices and crushes are on offer as well. Coffee comes in deep cups, and the generous froth on top of the cappuccinos will reassure you that the caps here are no flat whites in disguise. The spirited salsa music in the background is gentle enough to keep sleepy breakfasters mellow, and soft enough to still hear the lazy newspaper pages turn. Chef: Mardi Edwards
