Established in 1986, Thai Thani is a bit of a veteran of the Fitzroy dining scene. However, it's thankfully not stuck in a late '80s time warp, catering to untutored retro palates. Instead, this local institution serves up a great range of authentic Thai specialties, from spicy, sour soups to such distinctive dishes as gang panang (dry curry) or larp gai (minced chicken with chilli, lemon and mint leaves). Finish up with a traditional Thai dessert - coconut pudding or sticky rice with sugar banana.
