Victoria is sports mad. From the crack of the bat to the roar of the engine, the state is a prime playing field throughout the year.

While many Victorians enjoy playing a variety of sports, others like to watch. In Melbourne alone, you can scream for (or against) players and teams in a multitude of sports, including tennis, cricket, motor racing, basketball, soccer, rugby (league and union) and horse racing. In fact, some sports, such as the quintessential Victorian game of Australian Football League (AFL), or ‘Aussie Rules’, you may never have seen before. There’s also plenty of football fields, cricket pitches and basketball courts in regional Victoria, as well as premier horse tracks and motor speedways, often set amid stunning natural scenery.
