Queen Victoria Gardens

The floral clock in the Queen Victoria Gardens

Opposite the Victorian Arts Centre, the Queen Victoria Gardens is typified by flowering garden beds and manicured lawns. Flanking pathways, these beds of annuals and roses are well visited and are a favourite for wedding photographs. Another feature of the gardens is the large floral clock on St Kilda Road. Made with almost 7,000 flowers, the mechanism was presented to Melbourne by Swiss watchmakers in 1966.

Watching over the lily-covered pond is a memorial statue of Queen Victoria, just one of several contemporary and classical sculptures in the gardens.
