Noojee

Noojee

Noojee is a picturesque town nestled on the banks of the Latrobe River in Gippsland. Noojee is an aboriginal word meaning 'contentment' or 'place to rest'. Early European settlers, however, were industrious prospectors and tin miners in the mid-1860s, followed by farmers and timber workers.

Head out of town to see the popular Noojee Trestle Bridge, the Ada Tree and the spectacular Toorongo Falls. Take a walk or saddle up for a horse ride in the surrounding country, and in winter learn to ski at the nearby Mt Baw Baw snowfields.
